ABOUT
Learning about the history and the making of jewellery had been a great passion of mine since I can remember. I discovered and worked in all kinds of facets around jewellery, with rubber and pearls as a kid, for the local Goldsmith next to school. I started to building up my own jewellery line with horse motives that I maintain until now and where I still make part of my living from. Jewellery had been one of the first artistics expressions of mankind and I have been interested in the crucial motives that drive people to adorn themselves.
My excitement to work in the field of contemporary jewellery grew into questions that build further on the public and social qualities of body adornment, such as: In what way is the human instinct and desire for body adornment showing social aspects in our contemporary life? What is the impact of rituals connected to body adornment in a private and public environment? Researching these questions and my involvement with far eastern practice, philosophy and esthetics let me to my current interventions in public space.
